Front Mount Radiator Airflow Direction?

Hi Everyone

I am looking to start a build with a cooler master scout advanced 2. I've heard you can fit a 240mm radiator on the front if you remove the hdd rack. My question is which way to blow air through the radiator? I haven't hammered out the details yet but i am not planning on liquid cooling anything but the cpu, so everything else will be running on air. I'll be using all the available 120 mm fan mounts (2 top, 1 back, 2 side). I have only ever done airflow the traditional front -> back, bottom->top. Would an alternative airflow plan work fine such as back->front & top->bottom. I don't mind having to dust things out more often.

they don't care about 28C air...... and you case fans are probably exhausting all that air once a second. I have 6 thermal sensors inside my box, along with a 6 channel readout on front panel..... I have measured this every way from Sunday.

What would ya rather have, 2 x 185 watts from a pair of OC's 980s heating up ya 100 watt CPU or ya 100 watt CPU heating up ya two GFX cards

Radiators, always, always, always, without question blow into the case. The guys who write the installation manuals are not idiots. They have tested it both ways and the results comply with the laws of thermodynamics.

The amount of cooling you get from a radiator is based upon the difference in temperature between the coolant and the air going thru it. So what you want cooling ya 28C coolant ? The 23C outside ambient air or the 28C interior case air ?

You'll get twice the cooling outta the ambient air

The goal of water cooling is to cool your coolant so it can cool what you are water cooling, the rest of the stuff in your PC doesn't care about 28C air.

Yeah i totally agree that the outside air is gonna be cooler than inside, my concern was dumping that heat from the radiator into the gpu(s) and whatever various heatsinks the mobo has. I haven't figured out which, but i think i will probably be going with a high end gtx 900 series with the reference blower then adding a second for sli down the line.

I want to leave the sli option open if/when i get a 4k monitor in the future. For the time being though i am using 1080p. I feel like the blower style will be easier to manage heat for possible sli, but i am open to trying to make aftermarket coolers work. With either reference or aftermarket i plan on getting a mobo that can run sli with atleast 2 slot space between top card and bottom. Given that the case has two 120mm side fans aimed at where the GPUs will be should i not be too concerned with heat coming from an intake front radiator?
