The stock clock is 900 core and 1050 Mem If i even go up so much as 905 and 1060 Its will crash about 10 minutes later Is this just because the 6870 is a shitty overclocker or is my GPU just dying i have had it for about 4 years i was planing on buying the 970 anyways

Solution

Edit* didnt read the first part

start with just the core clock, use msi afterburner and bump your voltage up a tad and boost your power limit to +20.

what is exactly happening? is the driver crashing, pc shutting off etc.

also some cards upping the memory causes issues, I can only bump both mine up about 100 without having issues but they are already overclocked from the factory.
