HDD high pitch noise after installing new GPU

HDD Is making a high pitch sound. Kinda like a Dog whistle(or how you would "hear" one). This happened after installing a new GPU and moving the HD 2 slots up to make room for the r9 270x i bought.
It happens almost all the time, except when playing games (DR3, Skyrim,Other demanding games ) which is odd.
I have no hangs, no BSOD, no problems at all except the noise which is driving me crazy.

Thanks for the fast respons Terry. But that is not the noise , and is not comming from the GPU. While it is similar in a way, It is not the same. It wasn't doing that yesterday, it started as soon as i turned the computer on after installing the R9 270x i bought.
It is possible that some kinda of interference is going on that is making that noise?
Also, it almost never happens when i play games , as if it works normal on high demanding conditions.
I just put my head inside the case for a second now, and realized that im not 100% sure is coming from the HDD or the CPU.
Nothing is overheating either , i monitor the temps with HWInfo and there is nothing wrong regarding voltage or Temps.
The noise is 100% sure when using a browser , or lite stuff like that , but it goes down to less than 10% of the time when im playing.
Today i played Dead Rising 3 for 4 hours, and not a pip. As soon as i left and went to facebook, noise started again.
Could it come from the cpu instead of HD?

It could be a fan bearing or the power supply. You can eliminate the fans by putting your finger on the hub of the fan when the noise is present. If the sound changes then you have your culprit. You can also use a roll of paper to your ear to help localize the noise.

Great idea on the roll of paper. The sound appears to be coming from the CPU area. Is not the PSU, HDD or GPU. With the paper i could hear it clear if i pointed it to the cpu area. Now is not a loud noise, but sort of intermitent, morse code like high pitch sound...if that makes any sense :S
I did clean the cooler there before installing the new gpu. I checked the fan but it doesnt seem to be the culprit in this case and is well firm. Is possible that dust or something stuck between the fan and the cpu( on the heat sink i mean) could be making it sort of vibrate?
Remember, when im playing, and the demand is high on the cpu, i cant hear any sound.
I'm having dinner with my wife now, ill check the thread in 30 minutes. Thanks for the help Terry.

It's weird that the noise came to be exactly when installing the GPU. The probabilites of it being a fan bearing or the fan vibrations exactly at the same time i installed the R9 are 2 slim. I believe it could be electronic noise from the motherboard which , sometimes and with the right combination of components, can be trigger from one day to the other.
I've read in other forums, that turning off the C1E setting in the BIOS setup, eliminates such noise on some motherboards.Mostly gigabyte. I have a motherboard m5a78l m lx.
Do you know if it has that setting on it or something similar?
Thanks.

Today i tried to pinpoint the source of the noise. Last time this happened, on another Pc some 5 or 7 years ago, i was able to find the inductor and fixed it with silicone. But this time is like it is coming from the cpu itself :S
It doesnt make any noise when on the BIOS, is just on windows. Shouldnt the problem be at all times if it were a coil or capacitor?

Thanx for the support, ill check the link you provided.

I listened to your video. It sounds like someone snapping their fingers. The sound in the video may be bubbles going through the pump. That would account for the irregularity. Do you have a watercolor?

I'm just speculating here, but it doesn't sound electronic to me. Do you have your fans controlled by the motherboard? If so set up a cooling ramp that cuts all of the fans to their lowest RPM. Then the next time you hear it with regularity, change the cooling ramp. See if that affects the noise.
Try the same thing with the graphics cards fans if possible?
You can try loosening the motherboard standoffs to relieve any mechanical strain. Reattach your electrical connections. And then tighten the standoffs in a crosswise pattern. You can reseat the new graphics card (clean the contacts and blow out the slot). You can reseat the RAM (again cleaning the contacts and blowing out the slot). You can reinstall the CPU cooler with fresh thermal grease (you are supposed to do that yearly or so anyway). At the same time you can remove the cooling fans from the cooler and thoroughly clean any accumulated dust.

You can try adding some sound dampening.

The sound is the high pitch sound from that video, not any other that you might hear.
I will try taking everything apart , and building it from scratch.
Is not my first build, since i've built dozens of machines. Is driving me crazy because i cannot find any source of the noise, but i can hear it :)
Ill take it apart tomorrow and build it from the ground up. I will let you know the result.
Thanks terry.
