Hi all,

I'm looking to buy some thermal paste for my V8 GTS heat sink and have been looking at the Coollaboratory Liquid Pro. Unfortunately I can't seem to find anything online about what the base of the "vapour chamber" (i.e. the part that will come into contact with the thermal paste and CPU) is made of. Obviously aluminium + Liquid Pro is a really bad idea, and I do know that the majority of the heat sink is made from aluminium. However, I have seen on some sources that the actual base of the chamber (but not the top) is made from some sort of copper-nickel alloy, although others only mention that the heatsink pipes have a nickel coating. Others don't seem to mention it at all though. Essentially have no idea what material is on the base of this thing.

Could anyone help me out here?

For the price its awful, get the hyper212 evo with an extra fan for less than half the price and end up with better cooling and overclocking ability.

Thanks, but that really doesn't answer my question. I have the V8 GTS and am looking for thermal paste.

Hmm. My post on which thermal paste CM used seems to have vanished. It was the ptk002

And I found this in a review of the cooler:
Quote:
the GTS’s heat pipes and contact surface are aluminum instead of copper
