how can i recover a file from the cloud

i cut a file from my Cloud to a Lexar thumb drive. Wen i installed it later, it was empty, i lost all the files. Does the Cloud have a back-up?

The Cloud is a general term for "network storage" that is hosted somewhere online, check with whoever your provider is for that storage, they do backups of their files and may have a way to restore your file.
