Hello everyone,

I have enough money for either a 295x2 or a 290X, but the purchase comes down to a couple factors:

1) I play at 1080/60 and always max all graphics. 60FPS is the bare minimum. I like 64x tessellation, 16x AF, all effects on, 4x MSAA usually,

2) I've never liked crossfire. I have 46 games and crossfire has never worked well at all but I'm limited to the market, and right now I've chosen either the 290X or the 295x2. I want something more than the 290X but the only thing is the 295x2 which I am apprehensive about for both price, scaling, and crossfire.

Meh, that's about it. The issue may be preferential. If only there was a 295x or something instead. That'd be a great middle ground

(ps, don't recommend me Nvidia)

Solution
Do you need to edit videos or something? There's ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to get a R9 295X2 if you don't edit. R9 290X would still be over sufficient to go maxed or ultra.

And why not NVidia? Just asking.

Alright, well the first thing i was gonna do is recommend Nvidia. But nevermind :/. A couple problems with the 295 X2 > its is big, takes up a lot of space. Yes it has water cooling and you have these pipes going every where, i dont like it. Second the amount of heat it produces, it will produce a lot of heat. 2 processors even with the water cooler it will get hot, and yet a water cooler does use fans so keep in mind the fans are gonna spin up when the card gets hot.. third power consumption. its a powerful card, so you will need sufficient cooling> along with somewhat good Power supply. it its self has a doubled power consumption so roughly 500 watts at peek usage. At 500 watts its gonna get hot. But if those factors don't matter than go for it. Im not a nvidia fan boy but i am extremely satisfied with my 680... its low on power consumption,, great overclocking ability even with stock cooler, and at stock clocks it doesnt go above 80 C. But AMD is good, i just had bad experience with there costumer service. Good Luck!

OH yes there IS! Iwant it! Well maybe that is an excuse, But it works for me. Just kidding. Maybe not.
But the gtx 980 is the new king of the jungle. And I did not say to buy Nvidia cause I like Amd. That is why
I recommend what I have a R9 290X Msi Twin Frozr. I'll be honest I am recommending it only because I got one.
Flimsy reasoning, but Truthful.
