So I left my computer running while I stepped away to the store for a little bit, and when I returned I noticed I only had about 112gigs of my 3TB drive left. I use this for extra storage, so my OS isn't installed on it. I typically leave about 1.5-2 TB's free on it. I did notice a 1.67TB file that was actively writing to the drive.
The file name and extension:
tmpgl_aex.QEjCbY8uDsEZ3TSUBJ_zvCx29gbAeGJ8BLO.lhw9Z-Muuz685-OwV4TV7HnTKgYmtsXnnnBBoVIH_QR9_t3yqcHB5cPNFKBo-tK0hpmDEwwkBakD7R5IVuB-tKvTQ6zEbFK-eXGZbFGh6NScEBdrZJq4lrVbkFUXIQOCTc0tS.Zlj19VMWx3T5_YBs3HX0qqbGaEIjPAcgIh3wEbCGWSmmOP086.WcQ0SjJWGzN5qlVEuSsPfBKx
Size:
1.67 TB (1,839,322,021,888 bytes)
Opens with:
Windows Shell Common Dll
System Specs:
Windows 7 Home (64-bit)
16GB of RAM
120GB SSD - Primary
Seagate 3TB - Secondary
Any insight in why this would happen would be appreciated. I can easily delete the file, but would like to mitigate this from happening again in the future.
Thanks!
