So this is a problem that's recently started. I built my new pc about a month ago, and it's been running perfectly, but the past few days I've been trying to play games (specifically Sid Meyer's Civilization 5, and Elder Scrolls Online) and a few minutes into the game my computer will tell me I'm running low on memory and I should restart programs. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and this is my system.

Rosewill Thor v2
Asus Sabertooth x79 mobo
Intel I7 4860K
16 G of corsair vengeance RAM
Windforce GTX 770 Oc 2G
256 G Crucial mx100 SSD
4 TB WD Green HD
Corsair hx1000i Power supply

I know My power supply is overkill, but I got it to leave room for upgrading. The massive HD is for video and graphic work. Thanks for the help!

Few things I can think of here.

1) Make sure to run a virus scan.
2) Take a look at your task manager and see what is using memory and how much you have free.
3) Make sure your pagefile is turned on. Although this shouldn't be an issue with a system with 16GB it doesn't hurt and keeps memory issues from happening.

check if you have your pagefile in auto.

i remember i disabled mine (ssd was too small due to BF3), it was ok for months, but then i got the low-memory message also.

Crap I accidentally chose the solution. But I ran a full virus scan with no results, my pagefile is enabled and my memory usage wasn't ever above 50%

Run a malware scan (malwarebytes has a free version), also check in your startup and see what all is loading (prob have things that can be removed)

I quarantined all of it. Could that have been the problem?

Possible - the PUPs are Potentially Unwanted Programs (not little Dogs, though they can Dog the performance) - see how it runs now - on the Startup check, might get the free app WinPatrol, it will let you see what loads at startup and easily let you remove or disable things - i.e. don't need things like the Adobe apps at startup, or google update, or MS Office apps, - a lot of junk can accumulate in startup

Dang, too bad it's not just little dogs. I got winpatrol, and removed all my uneeded startup porgrams, restarted my computer, and got the same result. =141531021&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=0]Here is a picture of the task manager during the crash while playing Elder Scrolls Online (for about two minutes.) h

Also, It doesn't seem to happen on many games, for example, Skyrim and Payday 2 both run fine.

As far as I can tell, the problem is the same for two different games. I'm reinstalling Civilization 5 right now (because it's tremendously smaller then eso). I'll let you know how it goes

Okay. Thanks again for your help. Same result after reinstalling. Watching the task manager, the "Commit (GB)" Climbs and climbs wayy high until it crashes. Up around the 60 GB area.
