Hello,
I upgraded my MB, CPU, video card, RAM and of course I have to reinstall win 7. I plan on getting a second hard drive soon. Can I install win 7 on the new HD to get around having to move all my files over etc. or will the old install and HD mess with things once the new system is built? Thank you for the help.

Matt

Solution
You can freely move regular files around (e.g. Word documents, videos, jpg, mp3, etc), but you cannot move installed programs and games (mostly) around.

For program files and games you'll have to reinstall them for full functionality.

But to answer the question, the old installation shouldn't interfere with your new installation.
