What are the main things in a GPU that a game requires? I heard that Dedicated Video RAM, Pixel Shader version, and Vertex Shader versions matter. I know what Dedicated Video Ram is but what is Pixel and Vertex Shaders? What Version is the Pixel and Vertex Shader on my MSI R9-280? Battlefield 4 says it requires Pixel and Vertex Shader version 4.0 or higher, do i have that? If i am not looking at this the right way please correct me, i do not want to sound like a guy saying if you put a seat cover on a car`s seat, it will run better and go faster XD!!! lol

R9 280 has all the things required to run battlefield 4 on ultra settings,so there is nothing to worry about

They are the shaders used by the game to give you better visual effects, dont worry much about that. You have a very good card. which will let you play most games on high or even ultra without anti aliasing,
