Why do PC gamers need to change their GPU almost every year and console gamers are good for many years to come.

I am always hearing how PC gamers need to buy a newer extremely expensive and better GPU every year if not two times a year or more and yet a gamer does not need to do anything for 5 - 8 years and still be able to play games that pretty much look the exact same on Consoles. I agree that modding, large amounts of FPS, and a tiny bit better graphics are great PC but is it really worth the $1,000 od dollars every year just to barely be able to play modern games when a console can last 8 years and play every game PC can with no upgrades needed? How is it possible that we buy GPU`s that are thousands of times better than the GPU in the PS4 or X-ONE yet if we buy the equivalent GPU that the PS4 or X-ONE has it will would barely be able to run San Andreas (Sarcasm), lmao. I mean do not get me wrong i am a PC game and i do not hate console, i just dislike it due to the lack of freedom of what i paid for and "OWN". How do PC gamers use GPU`s that are greatly more powerful than any Console GPU yet we need to upgrade ours all the time when Consoles do not need to update their GPU and they still play the same game our high end GPU`s play when the console still has its same old crappy GPU in it playing the exact same game we are playing?? WTF! Am i missing something here??

PC gamers don't NEED to upgrade anything if they don't want to.
YOu just do it to enable higher settings and better graphics, this option is not open to console gamers, so they miss out on all of that eye candy that a higher end PC GPU can handle easier.

Also 1000$ is WAY more than the average decent upgrade of a graphics card.
EVERY years is also too often.

My upgrade cycle is about 600$ every 3 years, but for most, 300$ every 3 years is the most cost effective way to upgrade AND benefit from decent in game settings.

If you compare resolution and image displayed between a high end graphics card and a console then you will see how much better a PC CAN display a game, assuming of course the game is not a crappy console port, like GTA.

Well, it's about people want an upgrade.
Personally I upgrade my GPU every new generation of cards just because I want that little extra.
You do not need to upgrade. You can stick with a card for about 6 years maybe?
It will be outdated by then, but it sure will be able to play games.

And computers can play 1080p, 1440p and 2160p. Only the components setting the limit on how much FPS you can reach.
A part from the consoles where they have problems running 60 FPS on 720p.

Yes i totally agree that PC is better in Graphics and everything else but how does the PS4 for example play every game that comes out on it on ultra and will for the next 6 years or so when a high end GPU will not be able to run most games on ultra after its been out for 2-3 years? Are PC games more performance Hungry? Do the developers make the game easier to play and handle on console or something?

Only the hardcore pc gamers do that. Most jus upgrade minor parts like hdd due to more space needed, ram as somtyms they get faulty or more is needed
The moat crucial would be graphics card since we tend to push the limits. Some prefer more performnce, some want to scale higher resolutions, some want higher visual fidelity etc. Its jus optional but then its like smartphones. U will always want to have the best and latest.

The PS4 CAN not run ULTRA as a PC runs ultra, the settings/image displayed are not comparable.

So you literally can not compare them.

Ps4 or xbox cannot run ultra. Most cases resolution or visual fidelity is sacrificed to achieve it. OnlI most hardcore gamers can see and compare a game and find a difference in both console and pc ports.

Ur 280 is way faster than a ps4. The ps4 is equivalent to a 7850 slightly oc whereas a 280 sitsbetween a 7950 and 7970. Which is enuf to run high settings to ultra at most titles on 1080p and lil at 1440p

Not a chance. Closer to a HD7790/7770.

The PS4 and Xbone have EXACTLY the same hardware, EXACTLY the same.

.The PS4 has some small software optimizations that make performance appear better.

1 . consols use hardware in defferent way , don't care about how many rams or core they have
2 . consols using one specific hardware , developers work on it to fully optimize their games .. for example now you can play watch dogs on your xbox360 , but you can't even run it on a 2005-2008 pc

in 2 -3 year after lunch consols are better than pc (as you can see in previous generations) but after that pc will become better ..

One last question guys, should i get an GTX 760 or an R9-280? I heard the the extra 1GB of VRAM the 280 has it will help me out when i modd my Skyrim a lot more than what the GTX 760 will have. Also if i do decide to go higher i would be stuck between picking the GTX 770 or the R9-280X but this is only is i get the extra cash next month.
