Hello,
My laptop have total 3 Slots for Storage drives (mSata, Sata 3, Sata 2) Currently my 1tb drive is in Sata 3 slot) so my plan is to add SSD just i wonder which solution is better. Price difference is very minor and not to important. Possible solutions:

1. Move Current Hdd to Sata 2 (still i gues for 5200rpm is enough) and to install Evo Or Crucial ssd into sata 3 slot (cheapest solution)
2. Leave Current HDD ir its Sata 3 place and install Crucial or Samsung Evo in mSata spot. (more expensive)

Price difference is really not to much with first solution evo is cheaper with second msata crucial.
I am upgrading to 16gb ram and thought maybe Evo with RAPID technology from software would perform better.
Basically i want best power management general system performance (reading speed i guess ) i am new to ssd disk and all articles i read basically recommends Crucial m550 or Evo 840 (in my price range)

For example this benchmark: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-840-Evo-25... says that Crucial is faster.
But then i look into read speeds i kinda have feeling that EVO with software (rapid and other turbo writes, etc..) will perform maybe faster (boo-time, games, lots of tabs browsing, multitasking)?
I would be really great full for any constructive feedback which could help my to chose best product.

Thank you for your time.

Hi
Get the Crucial. I just bought one to replace my 3 month old evo 840 250. I have dealt with Crucial for many years and have found them consistent and helpful. That drive rated highly for value for money and performance overall.
The EVO that I bought 3 months ago suffers from an intolerable slowdown about a month after it is installed. Many articles state that it is a random read/write problem that is connected to a problem handling data over 30 days old and is a firmware problem. It will be another couple of weeks foregone the update is issued and I do not really know if it will actually fix it. Customer service is often hideous if you do have a problem.
Of course you may not run into the problem.....

Or you could go with the 840 Pro for a few bucks more than the M550.

Ssd sata Crucial cost more than EVO, mSata Evocost ore than Crucial. If to buy mSata i think to go with Crucial as it includes screws, with mSata evo i need to get screws myself. Really strage they dont include 2 small screws inside.
Ofcourse if i dont go for mSata then Evo is cheaper. With ram upgrade i am still thinking about Evo, like idea of dedicated software.
What about Crucial, does it have any software next to disk itself? Like boosting speed, etc?

I just installed the Crucial. It is a bare drive. No screws. I used the ones from the old drive. I have it in a narrow bay so no adapter is needed. A formatted it wit Win 7 and Cloned the old one with the Free Acronis. It was easy. I called Crucial and they had a human from the USA on the line within a couple of minutes who talked to me and determined which tweaks would give the best performance for my situation and walked me through adjusting Win 7. That is old school and I like it. I am happy.

Thank you for help. Decided to get crucial (reading lots of reviews made me think that i am getting same if not better and more reliable product + 6gb extra (which was not too important)
+ while i was choseing, seller asked 10quit more for EVO, so he made my choice easier.
Service was amazing. Same day got it delivered, mSata 256gb and it came with 2 screws which made me love crucial even more. I read in reviews that msata evo really comes without some.
Dont know which windows ill get. Now i am using 8.1 pro (jump from Vista, newer tried 7 on my laptop).
Not planning to clone, i always preferred clean install.
kahona maybe you can explain more what you mean by tweaks? What can be done? As i understood i just format, make clean install, dissable super-fetch and prefetch and i am ready? Maybe i don't know something?
