Hi all, this is my first post here. I have problem with new set of memory installed on my pc.

Here is the spec:
Proc: Amd phenom ii x4 3.2GHz
MB: MSI 790gx g-65
PSU: Agile 600w
BIOS: AMI 1.4

Old memory: 2x1GB corsair xms3 cm3x1024-1333c9dhx
New memory: 2x4GB corsair vengeance cmz8gx3m2a1600c9r

I have removed all components such hdd, vga, and dvd rom. Now only processor and memory attached to motherboard.
If I use old memory set, the pc works fine up to booting (which i removed hdd). I could set BIOS etc without any issue. But when i swap with new set, the BIOS wont load and the screen stays blank forever.

But only few times the bios starts (with new memory), it says Cmos checksum bad and wont get me to booting part.

I realize my mb can use 1600 ghz ddr3 with oc setting, but all i need now is the pc runs normally with new memory set (even if it runs only at 1333ghz).

I have tried to google any solution but failed to find any. I have tried clear cmos, checking each dimm slots 1by 1, using single plate of every new and old memory in every dimm slot. I really run out of ideas how to fix the problem.

Sorry, what is cpu x2?

I just got back to this thread after i check the memory i bought. Turned out they were defect products. I tested on same type of memory (but different capacity which were 2x8) and it ran well without bios error. Thanks for answer.
