Hi, I have an intel dx58so mobo, intel i7 920 with 3 gb ddr3 kingston 1333hz ram installed working in a triple channel mode. Now the fourth black memory slot is empty. If i install a 4 gb memory in there to get a total of 4+3=7 gb memory, will it work ? I know that triple channel won't exist then but i see in some reviews that triple vs single channel is not that much of a difference. I mostly game with my pc. Please share your thoughts.

I'm not sure, but I wouldn't count on it.
This CPU has a 3 channel memory controller. What it does with the fourth dimm would need investigation.
Mixing memory types often doesn't work anyway.

If it were me, I would buy a 3 x 4 GB kit of DDR3-1066.
If you can't get these anymore, a faster kit should just run at the slower speed.
A matched kit of three dimms should work great.
