Specs will be listed at the bottom of post.

I've been holding back on buying a new card until the 900 series came out. Specifically the 970. It finally arrived however, Newegg has 780's priced the same as the 970 cards (9/30/2014). Budget is roughly $300 +/- $30. My original choice was a 970 without question but now that the 780 cards are dirt cheap, relatively speaking. So now I'm a little unsure.

I play games ranging from not so demanding such as WoW to quite demanding such as The Witcher 2 on a single 1080p monitor. It's highly unlikely I'll be getting anything of a higher resolution in the next couple years. So I'm looking for whatever will most likely run games @ 60 fps on max settings for the next 3 or 4 years. I know that won't happen but I'd prefer to have a card that would get obsolete at a steady rate. I would also overclock a 970, not sure how aggressively I'd overclock it though.

Thanks in advance for responding ;) !

Sabertooth deserves GTX 970 4GB VRAM .

Btw , GTX 970 is 14% faster than GTX 780 and has 4GB VRAM , not 3GB

At 1080p the difference between 4gb and 3gb Vram is absolutely nothing at all. It makes ZERO difference.

I agree the 970 is the way to go though.

I would totally go with the 970 model, they are actually quite a bit better than 780 in most cases (10-15%)(unless you were referring to 780ti)

The price point on the 970 is pretty epic, I think most people went with the Strix or the Windforce card (Strix for me)

970 vs 780
