Hi

I am in Australia, building a gaming PC. I have chosen to get a GTX 970 for my gaming PC. I had originally chosen the MSI GTX 970 Gaming card which seemed the best, and figured that I could save ~$75 by buying it off Newegg or Amazon. I have since realised that Newegg only ship the Asus STRIX GTX 970 internationally, and Amazon ship all the cards internationally except the MSI Gaming GTX 970. So it seems I cant get the MSI unless I buy it from Australia and spend a lot more.

My question is, which GTX 970 do you suggest I get, now that the MSI is unavaliable? There's the Asus STRIX, the Gigabyte G1, and the MSI (non gaming).

Thankyou

Don't order from overseas, you would have to pay for shipping in case of a warranty claim, and it would take ages. Buy from PC Case Gear, they are the best. CPL is okay, but PCCG are more careful with their packaging.
ASUS is the best IMO, I have the MSI and it has bad coil whine. I am returning it tomorrow.

The discussion on what 970 is on full-steam in this topic, i'm wondering the same for also the 980 cards.
It all depends mainly on if you want to do overclocking and how important looks of the cards are for you.

Until now i've had a preference for ASUS cards because of my great experience with their customer service. Once needed a special 3 way sli bridge that gapped one slot they send it to me right away and i've gotten deaf ears at other manufacturers. Also their warranty and returns are good.

What i'm reading right now on other topics, asus is a solid choice.

If my MSI didn't have coil whine, I would have loved it.
Looks amazing, quiet, fast.
I think I'm going ASUS now though, don't really wanna risk another bad MSI.

If I order from Australia, I might as well get the MSI due to what you said, as I'm sure the coil whine is a rare occurrence. From PCCG it's $534 including shipping.

Thanks
