I have gtx 760 in sli, is it worth upgrading to a 980? will there be performance increase?

with that setup already, I would not consider going through with an upgrade as of yet.

I would consider waiting for AMD's 20nm R9 390/X cards (GTX 980 is only 28nm), they will defiantly be worth upgrading to. They are expected to launch early next year though no official date is confirmed, and any dates are always subject to change.

What does not perform as well as you would like? If nothing, then do not upgrade. If there is something, then post what it is, or check benchmarks for that specific title or titles.

nm - means nanometer

The higher the nm the higher clocks, lower temperatures and lower power consumption.

The lower the nm the more transistors it will have on the processor itself.

Not exactly. Smaller circuits use (and can handle) less power, but pack more transistors into a given area.

Unless you are have problems with SLI, I would stay put.
