I recently updated my computer for gaming. I purchased a AMD FX 8350 Eight Core Processor which stock clocks at 4.0 Ghz. I have a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard which I purchased with my processor. I also have a 128 GB SSD which my games are installed on. I have 8 gigs of DDR3 Ram. My problem is that even with this setup I get really low frames on games like Counter Strike Global Offensive. Which to be honest can run on a potato. Any ideas?

Solution

which 200 series? Im using r7 265 with lower cpu compared to yours(fx 6300) and i can run most if not all in ultra settings and get playable fps (40 to 60fps). I just compensate with the resolution.
If internet is solid then run benchmark and compare it with others with the same build. Make sure you have latest drivers. I used to run heaven app for gpu benchmark and cinebench for cpu. Goodluck!

troubleshooting steps:
Is it just online games? if yes then concentrate with your internet connection
is the build stable? run any benchmark app then compare it with same setup results
Do you have the latest drivers?
what is your gpu? Gpu plays a big role in gaming

Dumb question but do you have a dedicated Graphics card in there? Integrated graphics are crap and the best integrated graphics can only be found in AMD APU's (Maybe Iris Pro by intel but still, It's weak). A GT630(Recommended Graphics card) might be a potato but it's a whole lot better compared to even the best integrated graphics on gigabyte boards.

To gwapito: Are you pinoy? I am too.

Yes other games fps drops also. But i only get about 130 fps and people with less powerful builds get like 500-600 fps. Drivers are all up to date. Idk what software would cause that big of a difference.

No not really, considering how much I have spent. I should be getting 300-600 fps easy with this setup. I'm sorry but I don't how to do the benchmark. Any suggestions?

PC gamers are trying to achieve between 40 to 80 fps in games. Where in earth do you get 300 to 600fps? Download FRAPS to accurately monitor your FPS not here say.

Most games require atleast 60 fps. Csgo which is not even close to say bf4 graphics wise. I should be getting 3-600. Not that I need that much. I just don't understand why mine is so low.
