I want to use my computer to run my music studio and everyday use. I dont want all the stuff from everyday use running when I run my music DAW because it slows it down. I was going to do two operating systems and have one for each but that seems like so much work. Is it possible to create two separate user accounts on one computer and have one as my main account running everything and the other one only to run my music stuff? Will doing this provide better performance? Can I have separate accounts perform the same benefits as two separate OS but on OS? Thanks for the help!

so say I put some programs in one and some programs in another. When I switch accounts will they not only play the account specific programs or will all programs that are on the computer run in both accounts?

If you switch accounts and not log off then yes both accounts programs will still work.

What I am saying though is that it will hurt and not help system resources. There are several different programs windows must run for an active account, like your own explorer.exe and different services. Thus by just having another user account logged in you are running more programs and using more memory and cpu.
