Hello,
Excuse the newbishness. I'm sure this will be a very simple question to answer
I currently have an Intel i5-650 CPU, that's a dual core @ 3.2GHZ on an H57 motherboard as per the following CPU-Z screens:
Now, my colleague has a surplus quad core, i7-880 i3.67GHz CPU (8M SLBPS) and is offering to me for a very reasonable price of £40, tested and seen working.
I've never upgraded dual core to quad core before, according this link, my H57 motherboard will accept the i7-880 CPU - but I can't find anywhere online where anybody has put it into practise.
Strictly from a hypothetical standpoint, given what CPU-Z tells me about my mainboard, could anybody confirm that this *should* be a possible upgrade?
I won't hold anybody responsible if it doesn't work ;-)
Thanks for the help
