Hi Guys,

I'm the IT Guy for a company with 50+ Macs (iMacs + MacBook Pros). On a few occasions, I've had users' wired keyboards just stop working. Usually I just swap their keyboard with their neighbor's, and both people move on happily. On occasion, I have to try the non-functioning keyboard on a few computers before I find one it will work on. Today, I had to try 10+ computers before I found one that this keyboard worked on, and it worked great with no problems on that computer.

Can anybody explain to me what's happening here, and if there's a way to just resolve the issue on the first computer?

Thanks!

It could just be a flaky keyboard. Have you tried unhooking it and hooking it back up to the computer it started on? Try that a couple times and see if its just a weird connection or something that gets resolved when they keyboard gets power cycled.

Generally i would swap it with a known good one, bring it back to a known good machine and try to replicate the problem, if you can't reproduce it you can't solve it.
