I have a CQ61 (Hewlett Packard) that won't boot or even come on at all. No response when the switch is depressed. I read the motherboard and all the signals were good on my Metre. I know it's the BIOS chip that is faulty. I can change it with another chip from another CQ61 mother board, but not I don't have another board. Is there anyway to update or recover the BIOS now? Just like it is done on a model of Acer one. Please help me...[email removed]
Thank you

I think the BIOS chip is soldered in on these model. They don't have a redundant BIOS either. You can find repair processes here, including the part numbers needed to complete the repair: http://www.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01740724.pdf
