Hello,

I am currently looking at purchasing a Gigabyte Windforce R9 280x to crossfire with a Sapphire dual X R9 280. Can the sabertooth 990FX R2.0 support the weight of the two cards?

Oh,and I wouldn't CF a 280 and a 280X.
You're gonna be limited by the weaker card(280) in terms of performance.

I know. But I'm getting the 280x for $175 because it's open box.

Are there any extra hoops I have to jump through?

Not really, make sure you have enough watts.
Before you get the 280X,think about this.
If you can sell the 280 for $150 and add the $175 to that, that is $325.
Throw in an extra $10 or so and you can get a GTX 970,which will be about the same as the 280 and the 280X,if not better.
