Hi blackbeard34,

I am not able to understand your question, OP. And Corsair h100i is a CPU cooler and x99 is Intel chipset. If 29 C is the idle temperature of the processor, then it's good.

That was my Question - what are normal temps - what are high temps with system just idle?

Safe Idle Temp Range - 25 to 35 C

Maximum Safe Temp under Load - 70 C

Stress test your processor with BurnInTest and ensure it displays PASSED at the end of the result. During the test, keep CPU-ID HWMonitor open to read the temperature side by side.

Your question is bit puzzling as you didn't mention what idle temp range you would like to know. Are you inquiring for processor or motherboard? If motherboard, 29-35 C could be a safe range.

Yeah, I just built this system and kinda skipped the drives at first so I could get board, cpu, and memory. Its actually a lot more quiet than im use to and I know the fans aren't spinning at full rpms or anything. I kinda wondered what idle temps looking at vs overclock. - Not sure i'll overclock this system to much until the summer when I start on custom water setup. So that's why I was wondering about where I should be 'temp' wise at this point. The system is looking good ands stable though; 32gbs ddr4 and already went through 11hours memtest 5.01 without issue on first set of ram and 2nd 16gbs already went through a pass with no issues there. But I'll have to order my drives now and do some more stress testing but - so far so good I guess. Thinking about going with a Plextor M6e PX-G512M6e M.2 2280 512GB for my boot drive and 4x4tb nas drives on raid. What do you think? Thanks for your advice - by the way - I should have asked people questions on this forum sooner. This first system I have built in like 7 years, and my first water cooling - so I wanted start basic and something didn't 'break' my bank. =) What software do you recommend for burn in test?
