You should be able to turn on WIFI on your phone and connect to the name of the WIFI. If you have WEP encryption you may have problems and if you have special characters in the WIFI name you could have problems. If you have problems connecting, you could temporarily turn off encryption and try again, or if you have special characters in the name you might have to rename the WIFI.

The SSID is the name of the WIFI signal you are trying to connect to. If you go to the Google Play Store you can download "WIFI Analyzer" for free. It will show you the name of all the WIFI signals that are around you. If you don't know which one is your router, you will have to login to the router to find out. Logging into the router will also show you what kind of WIFI security is in use -- none, WEP, WPA, WPA2 are the possible types. If the only choices you have for security are none and WEP, then try it with WEP. If that doesn't work try temporarily setting it to none. Remember to set it back -- don't leave it set to none.
