Hello, new user here in desperate need of help.
I finally have bought a decent gaming PC, and i was overjoyed when i got it , this is my first "good" pc that allows me to run good games, anyway my problem is as said in the title screen crashes it happens with older games and newer games like far cry not even in max settings or anything, the screen crashes whilst gaming 20 minutes in sometimes 30 or an hour the screen will turn either black, grey with stripes, and on one occasion even red. i have tried everything adjusting settings in catylist control center , trying many settings on AMD overdrive overclock, installing new drivers beta drivers, also tried going back to older drivers nothing really seems to be working, i used Display Driver Uninstaller and did it all the right way still it crashes in game, i would be really really happy if somebody could help me out here, please keep in mind im a total noob when it comes to things like this so if you could provide answers that aren't to technical that would be nice ;)

thanks allot for any help.

I don't understand why radeons always have to keep causing problems, I've rarely heard nVidia cards causing problems, so what is it then? nVidia cards aren't better than AMD cards, are radeon customers plain dunce or something?

Anyways, begin by monitoring the temperatures, I suspect its overheating.

yeah monitoring your temps would be a good start. if they go above 95 that's bad. if you don't know how to monitor your temps, you can via MSI afterburner or the catalyst itself. don't OC or anything, leave everything at stock. also, what do you do when this happens? do you restart the PC? cause i'm guessing it's not a cable problem.

It seems this problem is all over these forums. I'm also having a similar issue with a Radeon R9 290x. But one thing I'd mention is, 95 degrees C is actually the normal temp for my card, as stated by many sources.

No! Not the R9 270! Not normally! I have a stronger card and it doesn't go above 65°C. If his card even reaches this much, then there is a problem!

Yup. check your temps.
also, what PSU are you using? are you sure you've updated your drivers correctly? installing new drivers over old ones can cause some problems. make sure you run display driver uninstaller before.

Yeah, that's why I showed it in reference to the R9 290x. I've been seeing in other areas where people have assumed certain cards should never get to a certain temp, but it's not always true. Obviously for the R9 270, it is.
