Green pixel on monitor

Have a green pixel that appeared yesterday and it went away. Today when i played games for a while it appeared again. What is wrong with my monitor? and how do i fix it?

A small number of "stuck" pixels is considered "acceptable" by monitor manufacturers. Here is an article on fixing a "stuck" pixel.

Some of the articles on stuck pixels DO discuss various types of pressure or rubbing to unstick a pixel. That may also work, but it does have a little more risk than the color flash approach.... If the color flash approach doesn't do anything that is probably the next level of attack.

I've seen it quite often as a MS Registered Refurbisher. Many times it goes away with just barely a touch/soft rub on the screen if the stuck pixel is red, blue or green.
