I have a weird problem where I can play, say Tomb Raider and get 76 FPS on ultimate, but when I up the other options this annoying thing happens. I can run the benchmark but right when it's done or right after I exit the benchmark and try to do campaign the screen goes blacks and the audio makes a vibrating/buzzing sound and does so for 3 seconds or so and then the sound stops and everything inside my PC is still running but nothing is being displayed and there is no audio. I can run it on Ultimate setting with no problems for as long as I want, but when I tweak the Supersampling and FXAA all the way up it only lasts a couple of minutes then does the thing I mentioned before. The same thing happens when I play Sniper Elite v3 and Crysis 2 even, I have updated the drivers that I know of and updated the Catalyst Driver. I would really appreciate the help, I want to play my games! :D

Solution
Unless someone else sees something I'm missing it should be your PSU, if possible borrow a better one and see if it works with no problems.
hmm pushing it to the max causes the problem... it could be that your PSU is not being able to deliver the power your GPU needs when on max demand, that PSU isn't Bronze certified so it's efficiency is not guaranteed, and it also doesn't deliver the 31A your r9-290 needs... so I'd blame the PSU.

There's also the remote chance that it's an overheating issue so monitor your GPU temps just to discard that remote possibility.

Thanks man, I had my some thought about it being the PSU and now I'll try another one. :D
