AMD driver installer 14.9 and Catalyst control center won't open.

Hello my problem is that today I downloaded AMD 14.9 driver,and when I am asked to install or uninstall drivers after clicking any of those two it just opens up for a second and closes,also with Catalyst control center,I opne it and it is on screen for a second and the it just closes,is that a virus ? Or is there a way to fix that,becasue its really iritating,thanks in advance.

I can't agree with that. Every time you change driver packages I recommend you use the DDU to remove the existing installation. There are just too many instances of problems with the new drivers when the old ones were not removed ( Or even if you devolve to an older driver from a newer one that's causing issues.) and the AMD express uninstall doesn't work for crap.


Neither do any of the other OEM removal routines. The only two ways I've found that have a high percentage of success are removing everything manually, which is time consuming, involved and still may not get everything from the registry, or using the Display driver uninstaller, which doesn't always work out, but it usually does. Hi, i have an Sapphire Vapor-x HD 5870 1DB BDDR5, i'm on Win 8.1 i've removed my nvida gt630 with DDU, and fine, i've installed the amd driver, no error, reboot i have the folders in c and averythings ok, but, i'm not finding the CCC, i have only the setup.exe in C, it doesn't recognize the display ports, and i'm on the dvi on the motherboard not even into the Vapor-x, it's about 3 days i'dont sleep trying to figure it out but F**K i'm really tired and nervous, what i have to do?

what you wanna do is you wanna install the latest drivers from AMD which 14.9 and do express download and youll be good just reboot and everything should be back to normal

Plus, if they have an older OS, that may not even be the right driver package. Some of those older cards are not supported and need different AMD or ATI drivers. I think that card will be supported by the 14.9 setup but it's best to know the OS and bit version first.
