Hi there!

When I started to install Windows 8.1, it seemed strange not being prompted to format the hard drive (new one). Is this normal?

After installing the OS, 350 MB appear marked as "reserved system" outside of the main partition. What is this reserved partition? What is the origin of this situation?

(please, see http://i.imgur.com/JCZLo2C.png )

Additionally, is there a tool (in Windows or other) that allows you to resize and create partitions (just like resizing a window)?

Thank you in advance,

Yes, that is normal. The Windows install does that automatically.

That contains your boot info. Absolutely normal and expected. Don't mess with it.

Disk Management, but only if you are really sure of what you are doing.
