CPU/GPU Combo for Budget Gaming

I'm looking at 2 basic combos:

I5-4690K + GTX 770

FX-8320 + GTX 970

Would it be worth it to wait for the GTX 960 in October and pair it with the I5?

I intend to play games ranging from League of Legends to the upcoming Star Citizen and Elite: Dangerous.

Personally I would go for the I5-4460 + GTX 970, probably a bit more than FX8320+970. All you would really lose in comparison to the 4690k is a few 100 mhz clock speed (not a big deal tbh) and the ability to overclock the CPU.

I would like to mess around with overclocking, maybe run just a slight OC. It's kinda like free performance, though of course in this case I would be paying a little more for it.
