Is a 4790K just OK, or should I bite the bullet on the 5930K with DDR4, Im not sure if the crazy higher price on X99s DDr4 ram is worth it.

More about : 5930k ddr4 worth money 4790k ddr3 1440p video editing

4790K is awesome. Depends on your needs. If you are a gamer and won't run more than 2 cards in SLI than the 4790K kicks butt. If I personally had the money I would go with the 5930K and that would be a "just because I could".

PS I run the 4790K

video editing.....

perhaps you are one of the few who might benefit (if a casual editer who doesn't mind waiting a tad longer, then fine), as most gamers will not benefit at all.....

I think u should use newer CPU 5930K because there is more support and better compatibility with new future stuff,so why not?
There will be more CPU's from Intel,so this is first next-gen cpu and next step to new stuff.

But there's always is your chose - so choose the best for your video editing software.

First use only SSD's HDD's buy best speed stuff and here u go!

Good Luck!

Id get a 4930k, then you dont have to mess with DDR4, but you have 12 threads to render and encode with, and enough PCIe pipelines for Quad SLI if you ever want it.
