Last night my pc turned off when I slept and wouldn't turn back on(ie the psu fan won't even cycle) this am. No power surges last night and plug/cord have been confirmed working. I unplugged the motherboard branch and shorted it with a paperclip leaving everything else on the psu plugged in, only the psu fan started up-nothing from the cpu or gfx card fan. Any tips on next best troubleshooting step?

Thanks!

Your power supply is clearly dead...Which one are you using? it would be best if you post your entire build. If you've got another psu in your house try switching them out to see if thats the problem

Thanks for the response. It is absolutely a hardware problem as I eliminated the easy explanations. I also went through both of those links but a lot of the information was vague and not procedural. I was hoping someone knowledgeable on here, might have a better stepwise guide on isolating the likely causes.
