I recently bought a Belkin Wireless home router to run 2 computers which are both hooked up with Ethernet cables. Whenever Im surfing the internet it will start loading a page or video and just stop for no reason and not restart unless I manually restart the page. When I'm downloading it will work at full speed for about 30 sec. and then just nose dive to 0 kbps and fail due to a unknown network error.

When I hook up directly to the modem it does not do this so Im pretty sure its either a faulty router or I just need to change a setting or something.

If anyone could give me some suggestions I would appreciate it very much.

Thank You

on the home router make sure you turn on wep or wpa..if not you may have leachers eating your bandwith. on the router itself make sure it has the newest firmware to rule out a firmware bug with your pc.

The network is secured with wpa, and I was actually chatting with Belkin support for about and hour and one of the things they had me do was download the newest firmware but that didn't fix anything.

Just tried open dns settings and then tested it out by treing to download a file which was 46 Mb's and it started downloading fine and after about 10secs it went straight to 0. and this is what it says in the router system security log whenever i try to do that.
