Hello again,
i found out that my PC is using Ram made by Micron (part no: 8ktf51264hz-1g6e1)
All info about part:

DDR3 SDRAM 4GB 8 512Mb x64 204-pin 0C to +95C 1600 MT/s PC3-12800 n/a CL = 11 1.35V 512 Meg x 8 Non ECC n/a Non Parity Standard
(whaterever half of numbers mean)

I cant find to buy that specific part. (only thing i found is to buy 100 of them at once, minimum purchase :)

as i discovered Micron = Crucial. so my question would be if i buy crucial similar part (part number is different), will it work together ?
Or who i need to look into? any other manufaturer might be compatible? I really don't want to throw away my current ram as i have only 2 slots taken in my laptop from 4, and as i googled out same laptop i have, with different configurations are sold with 4x8gb rams. i want 4x4gb one (now is 2x4gb)
Thank you for help

Crucial is Micron's brand name.

The three big DRAM manufacturers are Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron.

Samsung is its own biggest consumer, but it does sell DIMMs under the Samsung brand.

Hynix sells most of its DRAM to third parties such as G.Skill, Mushkin, and Corsair as well as device manufacturers. It also offers DIMMs under the SK Hynix brand, but these aren't particularly common in North America.

Micron also sells most of its DRAM to third parties, but it also sells DIMMs under the Crucial brand which are quite common.

If that particular DIMM has...

I ran it advises my 1 slot of 8gb ram and faster one CT4497890 - 8GB DDR3 PC3-14900 Unbuffered NON-ECC 1.35V 1024Meg x 64
so i gues according to crucial i need to remove old ram and put new one, which i dont want to do. Ofcourse faster ram would be nice, but i spend double by doing that.

but my question is will that ram recommended by crucial run without problem with ram i already have from micron? Considering i take as much close secifications as possible.

on your laptop under the memory advisor will show if you have an open ram slot and the max ram the laptop can use. if it 8g max. then the laptop with two ram slots will use two 4g 1600 cl9 1.35v ram. if it 16g the max with two ram slots is 8g each. if your laptop is 8g max check to see if you have an open ram slot. if you do pick up the 4g ram stick.

If that particular DIMM has been discontinued (which I find odd given that it's DDR3L) any comparable Crucial DDR3L should work just fine.
