So turned on PC today and noticed it wasn't able to make it to POST! It would attempt to start up for about ~2sec then cut off and immediately attempt to start back up (no beeps etc). So I checked all the PSU connections, removed / set the RAM back in. Still no dice.
To ensure it wasn't a short I removed the fans / video card and tried to boot it, still same problem. At this point I surmised it must be the PSU and went off to buy another to test this theory. Unfortunately at my local best buy they didn't have the exact same Corsair PSU. I ended up buying this Corsair CX750M (instead of the CX750RM seen in specs).
After replacing it, seemed good! Booted up no problem, started playing some games etc. However I immediately noticed a lot of extra heat coming from it. After maybe 30 mins I started to hear a pretty annoying whirrr from the PSU, presumably fan kicking on. I did a HWInfo but only saw the Auxiliary out of wack (~113 Celsius) but saw a few form posts noting this # can be invalid.
I am skeptical this is a bad ventilation issue - as I have another PC with the specs below running smoothly! My question is should I see such a noticeable difference in heat with the below spec changing between the Corsair 750RM to just 750M?

Get a 750w EVGA G2.
I can def consider that, I guess next step is to try to grab something in the meantime till I can get a proper replacement. Any other suggestions? Would the HX from Corsair even be worth it? Looking for a PSU like the RM that doesn't need to kick on unless needed / really quiet.

Thanks for the help! I'll def go ahead and return the 750M and look for a better one to replace it. In the meantime might jump on the RM's replacement warrenty, see what they can do for me, maybe even upgrade to HX / AX?.. we'll see!
On Amazon currently the HX & AX are going for the same price. Any reson not to just jump up to the AX if I wanted? Also what does HX not being fully modular mean?
Edit:
Didn't notice the Power Supply Sticky thread in this section, looks like the AX is the better option!:

I ended up here because of a random shutdown on my CX750M. I have maybe 600watts peak on my build. I don't think you need more than 760, but you might as well figure out what you're going to need with another one of your graphics cards in SLI. We all know that you're going to want to do that at some point. I just built my pc and I'm already realizing that I should have bought a better PSU and left enough room to add another graphics card.
