Help with Windows 8 product key

Hi guys, my laptop comes with preinstalled Windows 8 on it. I am trying to do a clean installation of Windows 8 on my new ssd which i just installed. I got to a point where they asked me for my product key which i entered. However, they rejected my product key. Can anyone help me?

You need to check the windows version that you are trying to install, how did you get it? It's a CD copy or you downloaded it? What is the version of the produck key you got? You will need to match this, you can't get a Windows 8.1 Ultimate using a Windows 8 Pro key.

Hi, thanks for the solution. My Windows is already activated on my hdd, But when i try to enter it on the Windows 8 setup, they said. This product key cannot be used to install a retail version of Windows 8
