My friend just purchased a PCI wifi adapter to replace his USB one because the range on the old one wasn't strong enough to give a good signal from his room. To remedy this his just got his new card which from what he has told me is really good. A perfect signal at over 50 feet+walls. Unfortunately, this new card comes with an issue. It makes his sound card fail. Which is actually an on board sound card. I'm not saying that the card doesn't transmit audio stream say from youtube, even offline files, tv, games, etc; do not play any audio. He does however hear a constant static sound. Some googling revealed that it may be interference from the signal that is interrupting the feed, but as far as I can tell there is no work around for that.
Any help at all would be much appreciated.

Have you tried plugging with wi-fi adapter in the front panel ports? Or moving it to a USB hub where it isn't next to the audio outputs? It's a PCI adapter, he had a usb one that worked fine, and still does. However, it doesn't have a strong enough range for what he needs now that he's moved.

Are there any errors in device manager? Did you install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website?I just had him install the latest drivers, no change from that. And no reasonable errors in device manager. He has 3 errors, 2 are unknown devices and 1 is "teredo tunneling adapter" which has apparently been like that since he got the computer.
In his manager his wifi adapter is showing up as working and same with his audio stuff

With some drivers not working - that can lead to problems.....not saying that is the cause here....
You might try a PCI adapter with an antenna that is "remote" like this: http://prntscr.com/4ryylm
