How do I permanently disable the HD audio? I have disabled it in the bios.

I have installed a sound blaster Recon 3 soundcard. Every time I boot my pc the HD audio driver magically appears, and I have no sound. The HD audio conflicts with the dual configuration of the SB drivers, and there is no sound. I have uninstalled the HD audio driver, I have turned it off in the Bios. I have done everything I possibly can to get the HD audio driver off my system. Do I have to go into the motherboard itself, and turn it off there?

As long as Windows continues to detect the on-board audio device it will keep re-installing it's driver after you've uninstalled it.
Go into BIOS Setup and set on-board audio to "disabled".

If messing with BIOS settings sounds scary to you, just disable HD Audio in Device Manager instead (right-click >> Disable).

Then restart Windows.

Disabling it in the BIOS is the preferred method though. If you disable it in Device Manager instead, you'll have to remember to disable it again if you ever re-install Windows.

Anything disabled in the BIOS stays disabled no matter how many times you re-install the OS.
