I am building a PC and I am having problems deciding whether I should get the Asus version or the MSI version of the R9 270x… I was going to get the MSI version until I read a few reviews about the card failing a few months into use like the fans stopping. However, I have read a few reviews about the MSI version being the more silent and having better performance…

Please tell me which one is the better one…

Both are great cards and you can't go wrong with either unless you get a faulty one, get the cheaper one.

The MSI one is the cheaper one by just a few dollars, but is the one that is failing for some people. I have heard about people saying that MSI's R9 series has many design flaws… but it also gives decent performance.

Just read this:

Both are more or less equal in performance, and unless you want to count extreme OCing abilities, the difference in temps and noise levels don't differ by much, both are good, MSI is very slightly better, and no it doesn't have any design flaws.

Well, most of the MSI reviews on Newegg say that the card had to be RMA'd in a few months of use, sometimes even out of the box. There isnt alot of such stuff being said about the asus version…

You can go with Asus version, to feel safer. As mentioned many a times, both are more or less the same :)

Ok thanks, Btw can I over clock the asus version to the clocks of any other version of the R9 270x, safely?
