Every other time I boot up my laptop the mouse is frozen. I boot, it's frozen, I reboot it's fine. The next time I boot I repeat the process.

How might one fix this?

Shalst I reinstall windows? That would be no fun...

Laptop is a 8710w HP Workstation laptop.

For starters, try re-installing the Synaptics TouchPad driver. You can download it from here:
http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAG...

Click on the correct Windows version and wait for new page to load.

The Synaptics driver is listed under "Driver - Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices"
