I have core 2 duo E7500 2:93ghz and gigabyte g31 mobo but its clock showing 1:6ghz in bios , and its slowing my pc, before it was perfect on asus p5g41 combo mobo. Thanks Debashish

Probably speedstep. Disable it in the BIOS. Then you'll see the normal speed

Speedstep is designed to slow the chip when its not under load . If you disable it then its going to run full speed even when it doesnt need to . All you would achieve was wasting power .

What is the multiplier set to?
