The gtx 970 I have bought is the msi gaming 4G edition and has a 6pin and 8pin power connector. My PSU is a 600W corsair PSU. It has a 6 pin connector and a 6/8pin one with two pins that are kind of seperate but still attached. Is this OK? Will it power the GPU correctly.

I have been using the GTX970 for a couple of days with this PSU and it works, but I am not getting anywhere near to review benchmarks. Could this be to do with the PSU.

Thanks in adavance.

Solution
the two pins separate is a 6+2 pin power connector. I know you haven't listed make but any Corsair 600W PSU even their GS/CX works with that card no problem. Your power configuration is also fine, and is giving the card all the power it needs.

Don't go by benchmarks, people tend to overclock like crazy beforehand just to get the highest score. On top of that the scoring does not always tell you how fast your card is, let that be decided by game performance. With benchmarking, my R9 290X got beaten by a GTX 680, that is impossible but in games it clearly outshines the reviewed performance. So to conclude, don't rely on benchmarks to get your cards true performance.
