I'm looking to overclock but I'm not confident I know enough about power supplies to make an educated decision so I look to the people of Tom's Hardware to persuade me with their suggestions.

CPU Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core
Cooler Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
Mobo Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 ATX LGA1150
RAM G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866
SSD Crucial MX100 256GB 2.5" SSD
HDD Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 4GB WINDFORCE
Case Corsair Air 540 Silver ATX Mid Tower

From that build it would go around 500watts (non-OCing). Then PSU with 750-850 watts would be fine considering you are into over-clocking and enough even if you plan to SLI in the future. I would recommend Corsair RM750 or HX750 (750w), or you can take higher wattage.

I wouldn't overclock with a RM series from Corsair they have poor capacitors.

My friend (next door) is using RM-850 with Overclocked core-i7 canyon for four months now, so far so good. One thing noticeable is its low noise under load.

RM series is said to be replacement of TX line while RM offering full modular and 80 PLUS Gold compliance, though may be using not the best caps (maker) choice at the secondary side, and failed in 'real' torture test, Corsair backed up the product with 5-yr warranty if ever the user experience failures in the psu.

I would have recommend TX series, I'm using (TX-850) since 2012 OCing my i5-2500k up to 4.7Ghz until I switched to i7 canyon with the same psu. However, the TX line has been discontinued.
