This might be a very sensitive topic on a Sandisk product. We purchased some Enterpirse SSD LB406M. Sandisk says they are SLC, but we did some testing and it has the speed of MLC. I dug up the spec sheet from 2 years ago, it said they were MLC.

I asked Sandisk for updated spec sheet, they said they don't have it. Is there a way to crack open the SSD and confirm? It possible a lawsuit will follow on this matter.

2 months ago, our company bought the Dell PowerVault MD3260f. They said they will put in 4 SLC SSDs. When the storage finally arrived, I found out they were all LB406M. I fought with Dell for a month telling them that on the spec sheet says they are MLC. They told me specsheet is outdated! I contacted Sandisk directly. SanDisk also said they are SLC. I asked them for spec sheet, they said they don't have one.??

What can I do?

Dell didn't specify which SLC SSDs they would put in. They just put "Value SLC" in the quote. 400GB.

I have been fighting with two Dell Rep for a month. They just said nothing they can do.

I am not sure what is the best action I should take. Should I crack one of the LB406M open and look at the NAND model number (a $2500 gamble) or just go straight to sue them in small claims?
