Gaming club Idea

(I really had no idea where to put this thread)

Someone has to have thought of this before, but I just got an amusing idea and I guess I'd like thoughts on it.

I know of internet gaming clubs, university gaming clubs, and even some for schools, their are meet ups and other things of the sort, but I feel like their is no real I guess boys and girls club style gaming clubs.

Growing up I was kind of alone as a kid in high school as a gamer, none of my friends did it and I had no one to reach out to (I had a lot of friends, but I didnt really have any hobbies in common with any of them, they were kind of me just pretending to fit in). I craved like individuals I could share my passion with. Even now going on 21 I don't really know anyone else that has even a gaming pc. I have seen some meetups in my area (none which are tailored specifically for gamers), and my local university has a club but that seems to be kind of university student friendly, outsider welcomed, but unfriendly (convoluted but you may get what I mean).

But what I'm thinking is a building where gamers primarily (but really it would be a club for all technological interest) can gather play and have fun. The club would host lan tourneys, viewing parties (parties of all sorts), club outings to various events, and competitions. It would give classes on building pcs, using the internet in general, gaming in a specific game (these classes would be run by members and staff). Any good idea really

Coming to the physical club without a paid membership would cost like 2-3 bucks to enter for the day and have limited access to the gaming pcs and games available there. Their could be a membership of different levels giving access to more and more of the club (though the base membership would be all you need to really just have a great time there physically, and affordably). Their would be an array of pc systems and consoles for members to use as well as tons of space for people to bring their own (as well as a separate section for members 18+)

The club would accept memberships from people that arent local (like someone from say Texas could join a club sponsored wow guild so to speak) and join the website. (Free of charge, but require small payment to attend yearly events)

This is just something I kind of thought about, because I never really have seen anything like it besides gaming houses (and I live in an area where gaming is supposedly a big thing)

What logistical issues could arise? (in terms of internet, electric and such)
Do you guys think this is something that is lacking today in America overall?
Would you guys go to a club like this??? Or just play at home? Could any game licensing issues exist say if you bought skyrim for all the pcs in the club and let people come in and use them ? Could you be sued for that?Has this been done before?

I've always wanted a place where I could go judgement free completely and play with other gamers in person that share my passion and want to make life long friends. (I know I stress gamers, but all things nerd culture would be welcomed, i really dislike the word nerd but i use it for lack of a better one).

I have a ton of ideas and if this thread sees a lot of action I may post more, but I just wanted to kind of get this off my chest it seems like something that needs to be done.

I mentioned age, but specifically the club would be like ages 12+, with a section specifically for adults (in the building/buildings) kids younger than 12 would have to be accompanied by someone 18+

Solution
Honestly this is a good idea, I would visit a club like this.
Though I guess not many people think the same. I guess 99% of the gamers would stay at home with their gaming rather than going to this club and play there, I could be wrong though and I dearly hope Im wrong.
