Hey guys,

I have an old gaming PC that I really want to upgrade. I haven't a limit on my budget, but I would definitely love it if you could take into consideration the cost-effect of different graphics cards out there.

My current deliberation is between the GTX 780 Ti (which costs about 800 USD here) and GTX 770 (Which costs around 300$ less). Is the difference between the two cards worth the price? Are there any other suggestions for a solid graphics card that could run new games in top-notch graphics in the coming years? (I'm using a 1920x1200 resolution monitor)

In addition, is there a difference between a i5 and an i7 processor as far as gaming is concerned? I was interested in an i7 processor but the guys at the store said that Core IT-4590 3.3Hz could suffice for gaming (The difference between them is of about 130 USD).

Are there any other key components that I should take into account besides a power supply and RAM?

Thank you!

GTX 780 Ti is more powerful, but the price tag is really a no brainer. Is 900 series available in your region? GTx 970 is better than 770 or even 780 while being under $400 (in USA). You should wait for that to be available in your region.

Yep i5 will suffice for gaming, and the mentioned model is more than fine for running any latest title, no need for i7.

Make sure you grab a SSD for faster OS and overall performance. I assume you're aware of good brands of PSU, namely EVGA/ XFX/ SeaSonic/ Antec/ Corsair (except CX/ CS/ VS/ builder). If you don't plan to SLI in future a H/B MoBo would do.

But if you want SLI capability, which's a nice thing, you'd want to get a Z MoBo.
For best value of bucks and performance, your bet is GTX 970.

i5 is plenty for gaming experience. Most of the games still utilize few cores so quad core i5 would be good enough for gaming. i7 is recommended where heavy graphics work is required in addition with gaming.

A few stores here have a Gigabyte GTX 970 4GB available here for 533 USD.

As far as the SSD and the i5 - noted. Thank you both very much!
