so i built a pc 2 days ago, iwanted to try and play some bf3 and see how it looks.. when i turn it on the resolution was automatically set on 1366*766 "i don't know the exact numbers" and the game looked fine but when i switched to 1080p 60HZ the menu looked smaller and the chat bar too, its weird but the previous resolution was better. why is that happening, is it because im using a tv and not a monitor, if so what other problems can i face later with other games while playing on a TV?

What are your system specs? TVs are just monitors with tuners built in. Be sure your TV is set to 1080P as well as your game settings. I've gamed on my HDTVs, no problemo. One of my Vizios actually hurt my gameplay because it was to slow, like 25ms or something.

Well, more the number of pixels on a fixed screen, smaller the text appears, that's absolutely normal. On a FHD, if you play on HD reso, the physical pixels would combine to form bigger pixels (not physically of course), and that is why the chat box and menu looks smaller on more detailed reso. Its not any problem, your eyes would adjust to the change in a couple weeks, so you can enjoy the game on max details available :)

Well same happened to me on my 46inch tv , 1366x768 was good cuz it was big and could read from a distance and 1080p was also good but too small at a distance.
My 32inch tv with 1366x768 is just perfect with pixel distance and readability.

Dont forget to turn on gaming mode. It changes TV's special features and makes it more responsive otherwise you will move your mouse but on screen it will take a while to react.
Hope i helped you. I would just adjust to resolution that suits my style. Low resolution will give you more fps and will be bigger but more resolution will be small and less fps.

I don't foresee any issues for you. Just be sure the PC/Game/TV are all at 1080p.

Ignore the recommended resolution and set FHD as the reso on all the games/ apps and on OS. FHD doesn't look weird, its just more crisp and clear, my 39" FHD for HTPC and other normal tasks never looks weird to me.

Well tell us the model of your TV. The reason for it to look weird maybe its resolution is 720p not 1080p anything other than native is wierd , happened to my plasma. It was fucking 51 inch and only 1024x768 pixels. Any higher than recommended resolution it was weird.

Hmm this doesnt looks right http://tinypic.com/r/2nklwew/8.
And Does your TV has option for 1920x1080 60p cuz 60p is better than 60i. Please tell us the model of your tv so we can give the right answer of what resolution should be used.

^ Yes! Bump it to 1080p if you can. 1080i is not as crisp.

This is the reason why you are getting weird display.
At 1080i you are getting interlaced image but if you bump it 1080 you will get progressive.
Either keep it 1366x768 60p or bump it to 1920x1080 60p cuz 60i or worse than 720p

Well its not FHD, you can go upto 768p, not sure how did you manage even 1080i. 1366X768 is the best resolution for your monitor/ TV, sadly.

Ok so it is not a 1080p tv. You can only keep 1366x768 60p.
Thats the max and recommended resolution.
BTW how bad is 1366x768? is it blur not c lear?
1080p comes in 5th generation Samsung f325000.

If you are fine with it keep it that way. and dont try 1080i.

It isn't, Full HD is 1920X1080, which it simply isn't.

720p is HD
1080p is full hd
4k is Ultra HD.
