Hey people,

I don't know much about computer temperatures and have a question about this subject. Is there a sorts of fixed temperature point (and beyond this point) which could be considered as a start in GPU overheating?

Thanks in advance for any help/information given.

It depends on the card you have. Cards such as the reference versions of the R9 290X run at 95°C under load regularly. (the only reference 290X still sold in retail is by Power Color) Generally I consider over 85°C to be overheating but modern cards can withstand over 100°C before severely malfunctioning.

Since you said you don't know much about computer temps in general I'll tell you about the other ones.

CPUs are considered to be overheating usually over 80°C (this goes for both laptops and desktops) and will shut off by that point most of the time.

Hard drives and SSDs rarely have heat issues but usually over 40°C is considered unsafe for the drive and may shorten it's life.
