I plan to purchase a Cosmos II case and am going to use the Noctua D-15 air cooler. At the same time, I plan to install additional fans into the case and wanted to use Noctua's NF-F12 fans to stay consistent with the air cooler (I also plan to replace some of the stock fans for the same reason). However, I have read some comments that suggest that the Noctua fans have a four pin connector and it is NOT compatible with the three pin fan wiring in the Cosmos case.

Am I unable to use the Noctua fans or can they be made to work in some fashion? I realize I could use the motherboard headers (Asus X-99 Deluxe) to control the fans through the Asus software as well which raises another question. Would that be preferable to using the case's fan control system?

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

You could put the noctua fans on the MB pins. They come with y-plitters by default too so you can put two fans on one connector of the MB. The Noctua fans are some of the best out there and I'd personally go for the MB control on them just to be able to monitor them from the OS.

EDIT: read this. it whould work in any case
